I just have to share this. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Best week in a long time!
Although I am very thankful for the opportunity I have to study, I've had some rough weeks.
Not gonna lie. It is true.
And even though I had the one of the worst migraines I've ever had today,
I still had a dang good week!
On Monday we had our Lab Midterm, which I was dreading BIG time.
I was so stressed considering I haven't really understood much in lab.
Every time we dissect something new on that cat, I just sit there like a big question mark on the border of puking.
Can't help it, but I don't deal with the smell of formalin very well.
Anyways, I got an A on the test! Woohoo! Not only that, I got 98/99 questions right!
On Tuesday Ida and Torunn came to visit!
They flew from NY in to SLC on Monday and were supposed to come then, but ended up staying at a hotel in Tremonton for the night. I believe they got a little worn out after trying to find the backcountry.com warehouse all day.
Ida is actually going to be traveling until the end of January, but after buying a car, nike running shoes (that were too cheap not to buy) a down jacket, cowboy boots, staying a hotels, eating out every day and other various adventures, she is now broke.
She is not very excited to having to call home to Ingebjørg N. Seim to ask for more money.
Or in Ida's own words: "a loan for 20.000".
We went shopping (Torunn even bought a bridle at Vickers even though she doesn't own a horse), out for sushi, went to Shoshone Falls and went to a Halloween Party at the school.
Unfortunately I didn't get the pictures of their cameras before they left, so pictures will come later!
I took these days completely off homework
(exept math and Tuesday night because I had a test on Wednesday).
Or, I guess almost took these days completely off.
Ida had to quiz me on Tuesday night for my Anatomy & Physiology test, and it worked. I got an A, Ida!
So today I was planning on being good and study hard after they left, but instead I ended up with a migraine flat out in bed all afternoon.
It was a bummer because we were supposed to go hang out with Hawng Lum and Hawng Dwi today, but Jake had to go alone because I wanted to stay at home and drill a hole in my head through my eye instead of going to dinner.
Tonight I took a looong bath in our bath tub, and I realized I haven't taken a bath since 2009.
But I have showered. Every Christmas.

Did you think I died?
I haven't been writing for a while.
But I'm still alive!
Well, time will show.
Tomorrow is my Lab midterm in Anatomy & Physiology.
Which means
I might die.
It's too early to tell.
I am SO sick of bones, muscles and intestines that you can't even believe it.
Well, we'll see how I do. I just want to pass, which mean I need to get a 70% or better.
Good luck, Chuck.
On Friday we had Hawng Lum and Hawng Dwi over again.
When we went to pick them up, they had a friend visiting.
His name is Purna, and he is a refugee from Nepal.
So we brought him with us too.
First we drove down into the canyon, so they could see how cool it is down there.
Then we went home and ate some crock pot dinner that Jake had made.
Funny story; I showed Hawng Lum a picture of Røldal, and he said:
"It look like Twin Falls"
Haha!
The rest of the night Jake and Hawng Dwi played guitar and sang while Hawng Lum, Purna and myself geeked out on the computer.
We looked up a lot of popular music from the countries were we are from on youtube.
I liked the Nepali music, it was a lot like Indian.
And then I showed them my friend Gabrielle's new music video, and they thought it was great!
Purna, Hawng Lum, Jake and Hawng Dwi
Good news; Hawng Lum passed his written drivers test, so we're cheering for him to get his drivers license soon!
Yesterday I made apple cake!!
Yes, you heard me, I made food!
It was good too!
Just saying, so you all don't think I'm totally useless.
Wish me luck tomorrow!
Cross your fingers and your toes, and have you neighbor do it too.
I need all the good luck I can get!

New friends
Last week Jake and I started volunteering through the CSI Refugee Program.
All we have to do is go and hang out with two brothers from Burma.
They are called Hawng Lum and Hawng Dwi.
It is really fun. They are super nice and speak English very well.
I can't believe they came to the US in the end of August!
We haven't seen much of the youngest brother, he is always out fishing,
but last Tuesday we had Hang Lum over for pizza.
He had only eaten pizza once before, so Jake made pizza from scratch and it was amazing (as always).
On Saturday we went to Hawng Lum's house. He had cooked some traditional Burmese food for us.
It was unlike anything I've ever tasted before, but I liked it! Well, I guess it was kinda like Thai food..?
Anyways, I was very impressed on how much different food he had cooked for us.
Hawng Lum and Jake
Better than going to a restaurant!
This week is going to be very busy. I only have two tests, but I have some really hard ones next week that I need to study for.
In addition to that I have Animal Care, meaning I have to go out to the barn and care for the horses, pigs and cows every morning at 07.00 and every afternoon at 16.00.
I like it, but it sure takes up a lot of time.
Also, getting up at 06.00 in the morning on the weekend to go to the barn when I have been doing it all week, sucks.
Oh well. Better get used to it!

Long time, long weekend
There are two reasons why I haven't updated.
1. I sliced my finger almost off, so it hurts to write both with a pen and on a computer. I even stabbed the knife through the nail.
2. Not much has happened besides homework.
I wrote a speech on Dugongs, but I don't think most people knows what they are, so I am going to show the "Dugong Song" in the beginning of my speech:
Unfortunately I bet my teacher will hate it. She doesn't like a lot of what I say or do.
Yesterday Jake and I actually DID something!!
We went to touristy places and then we went fishing.
I wanted to see the Oregon Train, and here it is!
Not Train, Trail.
It's because I have to write with my long finger instead of my point finger.
I thought this plant was cool, and decided it's called American Desert Lyng.
Lyng
Here in Hagerman they have found all kinds of fossils buried in sediment.
Like the Hagerman horse that is three million years - at least!
Jaja, said Jake, enough is enough.
I insisted on driving up to a viewpoint to overlook the Oregon Trail.
You see, when I was a kid I used to play Oregon Trail on the computer. My pioneers never made it to Oregon, they always died of pneumonia. Or the horses starved to death.
Oregon Trail
Oregon Trail landscape. Imagine walking here in the burning hot summers...or in the windy, freezing winters!
Tourist
Jake is touristy in his own country.
We went fishing for forever without getting much fish. I even tried to fish with marshmallows.
But then we found a secret fishing spot and hit jackpot right away!
I caught one!
Jake won. He caught three!
Here he is posing with my fish too.

Stakkars Albin
Kvil i fred, Albin!
Reis til månen, Ole.
Fine Albin.
//
Albin was a (potentially) albino moose that most Norwegians thought was cute and special.
Every year the moose hunters avoided shooting Albin, because people seemed to like having a cute moose like him around.
This year a Danish moron, who thought it would be cool to have his head over the fireplace, shot him.
I hope that every time he looks up at Albin on the wall all he can think of is that most Norwegians despise him and wants to beat him up.
Nice work, asshole.

Pet Blessing
Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like.
The Episcopal church here in Twin throws down a pet blessing every year, and the Vet. Tech program comes to give the animals free nail trims.
I didn't trim any nail. I just took photos.
So, it was kind of a weird little event, but kinda cute too.
Nice church. Maybe this will get Tommy to come visit. Then we can all be religious together on Sundays.
Some of the girls in the program.
Dr. Rockett brought her turtle.
Tired puppy on momma's lap.
Check out this little punk!
The dog's like: "What the hell are you looking at?"
Haha, I don't know what to say... I think they spend more time doing her hair in the morning than I do mine!
Lee getting his turtle blessed. I wonder if she said "I hope you'll have a long life". Cause he probably will.
Pitbull family.
Their neighbor had poisoned their puppies, so these two little ones were the only ones that survived!
This is Cadence. He is such a cute, cross-eyed little pitbull...
...with a BIG smile!!

Auction
On Friday we went to the monthly horse auction here in Twin.
The reason:
We were auctioning away a horse from the Vet. Tech program.
Gretchen.
Poor Gretchen. I think she is pretty and I think it is sad that she was sold at the auction
FOR $90!!
Good thing I didn't stay to watch her get sold for $90, or I would have bought her for $95!
Isn't that sad?
In Norway you can barely get a descent pair of rain pants for ninety bucks. And when I was a kid milk was like 7 NOK pr. liter.
Anyways,
We wanted to come up with a funny and kind of exaggerated arabian name for her before the sale.
Gretchen just aint that catchy.
So I suggested Flame of Jasmine.
And Flame of Jasmine it was!
Here are some pictures from the auction.
(All taken with Jake's little Lumix! Gotta love that thing!)
(All taken with Jake's little Lumix! Gotta love that thing!)
Den svarte hesten forran her likna så på Tassen at eg var sikker på at det VAR Tassen med ein gong!
Erin is sad to watch Gretchen go.
Isn't she pretty?
Bye, bye Gretchen!
I suspect this poor little thing had worms.
Yes, we think you are very cool.
Hest i solnedgang.
Poor horses. I felt like it was like the auctions in Black Beauty, for you who has seen that movie.
Oh well, what can you do? Buy them all?
