¡Viva España!

Finally.
I've edited the photos from out trip to Alicante.
I'm very happy we got on the last plane from the airport before they closed because of the ashes coming in from Iceland.
I have to say Alicante was pretty sick
Lots to see, lots to do, good shopping, amazing food, nice beach, warm weather....
Not like your average Norwegian town.

Here are some photos!

Castillo de Santa Bárbara.
Dates back from the 9th century. Originally used for Muslim control over the Iberian Peninsula.

At the Mexican restaurant Stein Jarle got a steak the size of half a cow.

We went to this really cool Art Nouveau style house, "Gómez-Tortosa", from late 1800's early 1900'a.
Daddy got rich on selling saffron.
I bet the family who lived here enjoyed themselves at home.

The Sanctuary of Santa Maria Magdalena at Castillo de la Mola in Novelda (1918-46). Inspired by Sagrada Familia by Antonio Gaudi in Barcelona.
While we were there they were working on constructing what is going to be the largest marble organ in Europe.

One of the many paintings donated to the church by a rich family.

A tractor at the vineyard we visited in the Novelda valley.

This dinner must have been one of the highlights of the trip. The food and the wine was amazing!

Thursday night it was time for our fancy dinner celebrating Ove and Lisbeth owning Shell Røldal for 20 years! Hooray! Pop the champagne!

Jake on his way to the restaurant.

Marianne found a bar worth checking out.

It was DELICIOUS.

Lisbeth liked Jake's finnish joke.

Some of us thought sunglasses for 5 euros was the steal of the month.

Haha, alien.
